Horton earns bronze-level SQEP certification from Caterpillar

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – May 9, 2017 – Horton – a premium provider of engine cooling solutions worldwide – has earned Caterpillar’s bronze-level Supplier Quality Excellence Process (SQEP) certification. Designed to place special emphasis on performance excellence, the SQEP certification recognizes suppliers who demonstrate a commitment to product quality and service across Caterpillar’s supply base. Additionally, the initiative recognizes a company’s dedication to providing outstanding quality, delivery and cost, and is only presented to suppliers who consistently demonstrate superior performance.

SQEP incorporates industry-proven quality tools and system requirements – including ISO certification, supplier parts per million (PPM), on-time production part approval process (PPAP), statistical process control (SPC) on key characteristics, Six Sigma deployment, supplier capacity, on-time delivery to production and service – to determine best-in-class supplier performance. Caterpillar’s objective for SQEP is to implement a culture for “zero-defects” across its entire supply base.

“We’re proud to earn a bronze-level SQEP certification from Caterpillar as it recognizes Horton’s commitment to manufacturing innovative, high-quality products that our suppliers and customers can trust,” said Tony Niese, vice president of operations at Horton. “We are honored to be recognized by Caterpillar and look forward to continuing our commitment to outstanding product quality and customer service.”
