Gemcom MineSched 8.0 Now Available

Gemcom software announced the latest version of the MineSched surface and underground scheduling solution has been released. MineSched 8.0 provides greatly enhanced performance as well as many new features; allowing even operations with complex schedules or large deposits to create underground and open pit schedules in a fraction of the time compared to earlier versions. Performance improvements in MineSched 8.0 allow for production scheduling which is up to 20 times faster, and development scheduling which is 10 times faster, making most scheduling runs almost instantaneous.

Benefits:

  • The MineSched Development and Scheduling engines have been completely re-written, offering users up to 20 times improvement in scheduling run times.
  • A new option has been added allowing users to save all scheduling results in one file. These files can be viewed in a standalone application called the MineSched Interactive Viewer that includes all the MineSched animation canvas features.
  • As MineSched 8.0 supports larger datasets, the user interface (UI) has seen several performance improvements that allow swifter navigation through all the tabs.
  • The Activities functionality has been re-organised into three intuitive screens and is centered around a new Activity Canvas that enables scheduling configurations not possible in earlier versions.
  • All of the Priorities UI elements have been centralised into one location so that multiple levels of priorities can be supported. The new UI now supports the addition of multiple levels of priority so that, for example, underground customers can prioritise stopes, areas and levels separately. This will greatly enhance long term scheduling and/or support for large datasets.
  • MineSched 8.0 features “Named Wildcards” that allow users to create multiple location precedences using one expression. This will reduce setup time and improve scheduling accuracy for schedules with many locations such as stope by stope long term plans and ring by ring short term plans.
  • New intersection rules are available in the Development Scheduling Connection (formerly Corrections) tab. By controlling when a child branch of a heading can start and when the development of the parent heading can resume, MineSched 8.0 provides much more accurate stope opening dates.
