Turkey top envoy goes to Niger in bid to secure uranium supplies
The trip comes after Niger’s military government withdrew mining rights from Canadian and French companies to develop uranium deposits.
Gekko Systems is pleased to announce the signing of a deal with Brazahav Resources Inc for the design engineering, supply and installation of a complete intensive leaching circuit for the Salinas project in Brazil.
The Salinas Gold project is located in the southern region of the State of Mato Grosso in the central western region of Brazil. Brazahav acquired the Salinas Gold project in November 2012 and has been rapidly advancing through improved and expanded production capabilities and detailed resource definition. The company is a privately funded group with extensive interests.
Gekko Systems is developing a significant base of large intensive leach circuits in Latin America for the treatment of silver flotation concentrates and gravity gold concentrates. In both mineral flow sheets, the precious metal is converted into dorè for shipment. In addition, Latin America boasts one of Gekko’s largest continuous gravity InLine Pressure Jig pre-concentration circuits in the Jujuy province of Argentina and a number of gold and silver modular processing plants.
Nigel Grigg, Business Development Manager, Gekko Systems, has recently returned from managing Gekko’s Santiago office, and was pleased to receive the signed contract from Brazahav Resources. Mr Grigg said “Brazil continues to show strong growth in gold project development and is increasing a key market in Gekko’s portfolio of global installations. Gekko has invested in Latin America for the long term and this project is particularly exciting as the ILR is providing a sustainable process option to increase gold recovery”
The project has been fast tracked to allow for accelerated installation, operation and gold production. Installation and commissioning is expected to be completed in September this year by members of Gekko’s world-class Technical Team.
Gekko is currently providing engineering assistance to enable a number of parts for the installation to be manufactured in Brazil.
This order follows successful installations for Brazilian companies; Colossus – Serra Pelada project, and Mineração Caraíba – Nova Xavantina project.
The Brazahav order follows on from the intensive leaching circuit including five ILR5000s engineered and manufactured this month for a large gold project in Russia.
