Freeport Indonesia targets 6.7% copper concentrate output growth in 2022

Tony Wenas, the president director of Freeport Indonesia, a unit of US mining giant Freeport McMoRan, told a parliamentary hearing on Wednesday:

  • Freeport Indonesia aims for copper concentrate output of 3.02 million tonnes in 2022 vs 2.83 million tonnes in 2021
  • Copper metal output in 2022 targeted at 1.6 million lbs, a 20.1% increase compared to 1.34 million lbs a year earlier
  • Gold metal output in 2022 targeted at 1.59 million oz vs 1.37 million oz
  • Ore output targeted to increase 22.75% this year at 64.88 million tonnes ore VS 52.86 million tonnes in 2021
