FLSmidth’s HyLogger systems provide users with the capability to rapidly and objectively capture detailed mineralogical data. An outcome of many years of extensive research and development, HyLogging aims to improve the efficiency and productivity of geological interpretation.
Recognising that a market need existed for a portable field/laboratory system that could simplify and automate the process of hyperspectral logging and imaging of drill chips in high quantities, FLSmidth developed and recently launched the HyLogger Zero.
HyLogger Zero identifies an extensive range of minerals (including FeOx, AlOH, FeOH and MgOH groups, copper and nickel bearing and rare earths) and is capable of scanning 4000 rock chip samples in 10 hours.

The unit was launched at the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) International Convention in Toronto in March. The convention provided FLSmidth with the opportunity to reach the 22,000 delegates in attendance, representing over 100 countries in mineral exploration and development across the globe.
The HyLogger Zero will be demonstrated for the first time in Australia at the Third AusIMM International Geometallurgy Conference (GeoMet 2016) in Perth between 15-16 June.
GeoMet 2016 will be first opportunity in Australia for geometallurgists to experience the unit firsthand.
Hosted by the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy the two day conference will share geometallurgical best practice in a multidisciplinary environment and aims to showcase ‘geometallurgy – beyond conception’ through predominantly case study-based papers.
Topics to be covered include: geomet corporate value; ore characterisation; environmental aspects; orebody modelling; programme design and application; mine planning and case studies.
