Escondida mine to produce 1.3 million tons of copper in 2015
BHP Billiton is currently working on the expansion of the Escondida mine, located in Chile.
The expansion project is scheduled to be complete in 2015 and the company expects to produce 1.3 million tons of copper that year, representing 23% of copper production in the country.
