Dassault Systèmes announced today that three senior executives have been appointed to new roles at GEOVIA, formerly known as Gemcom Software prior to its acquisition in 2012. Andrew Pyne has assumed the newly created role of Vice President Mining. New appointments to Mr. Pyne’s team include Ben Farquharson as Regional Vice President Australia, and Simon Waghorn, who expands his responsibilities as Regional Vice President Asia.

Andrew Pyne’s extensive career in mining spans more than two decades. A recognised strategic business leader, Mr. Pyne is responsible for the growth of the Mining business with GEOVIA. Transforming the way the mining industry works today in its application of technology, he is focussed on increased productivity and efficiency to ensure sustainable mining and economic improvements. Mr. Pyne came to GEOVIA over 16 years ago after a distinguished career with Dun & Bradstreet.
Ben Farquharson – Regional Vice President Australia, GEOVIA, Dassault Systèmes
Ben Farquharson has over 15 years of sales leadership, account management and business management experience in high-tech multinational organisations. As Regional Vice President Australia, Mr. Farquharson is responsible for leading a team of services and sales professionals who are dedicated to helping their customers achieve their mining objectives. Mr. Farquharson was previously Director of GEOVIA’s Stratified Mining Business Unit, and has also held senior positions with Telstra.
Simon Waghorn – Regional Vice President Asia, GEOVIA, Dassault Systèmes
Simon Waghorn expands his responsibilities for GEOVIA’s Asia operations, which he has been involved with since joining GEOVIA in 2010. From the southern border of Russia to the northern border of Australia, Mr. Waghorn and his team have been opening new markets for mining software, and increasing the role both it and mining services play in adding new value to mining operations in the region. Over his 25 year career, he has worked for global organisations including Ford Motor Company, Siemens AG, ERG and Lucas Varity.
