One of the biggest challenges in combating the Ebola outbreak in West Africa is the inability to quickly diagnose and quarantine Ebola infected patients, according to the World Health Organization. Currently diagnostic results may take days, requiring sophisticated laboratory equipment and high-level technical expertise, with costs of nearly $100 per PCR test. Furthermore, any attempts at compiling and studying the data analytics of the outbreak are stymied as there is no real time reporting of accurate and organized diagnostic and treatment data available for analysis.

BridgeCrest’s cloud-based platform integrates seamlessly with JAJ’s customized mobile health devices and wearables to collect patient health information, which is then uploaded and stored on HIPAA secured servers. JAJ’s prototype Ebola screening diagnostics look for the presence of various Ebola antibodies and antigens to determine whether a patient is infected or not within 10 minutes. Their data from initial evaluations in Sierra Leone, West Africa has been extremely positive with an initial accuracy of 82%.
