Boart Longyear to showcase productivity and safety during PDAC 2015

TORONTO – March 1, 2015 – Boart Longyear (www.BoartLongyear.com), the world’s leading provider of drilling services, equipment and performance tooling, will showcase advancements in productivity and safety during PDAC 2015, March 1 to 4, at Booth #101. The Company will also kick off its 125th anniversary celebration.

Now more than ever, companies are increasing their focus on reducing costs and creating efficiencies in order to drive productivity and safety on the mine site. Innovations and technological developments in drilling products and drilling services are increasingly being seen as the way forward.

Boart Longyear’s drilling services and products experts will be on hand during PDAC 2015 to educate show attendees on a range of innovative solutions, including several that will be launched this year. Highlights include:

Instrumentation. Boart Longyear’s first-in-industry line of instrumentation brings more technology into the hands of the drill crew so they can deliver more information and value to the client. Following its successful launch in Australia in 2014, TruCore™ Core Orientation will be introduced in North America in 2015. A survey tool will also be rolled out this year, and a gamma survey tool will be introduced in 2016.

Safety. As one of Boart Longyear’s core competencies, safety is integrated into all of its upcoming product launches. Representatives will discuss Boart Longyear’s comprehensive range of rod handlers and rod presenters, including hands-free options that enhance driller safety. Boart Longyear’s “safety first” approach to drilling focuses on keeping people safe with zero injuries, zero illnesses and protecting the environment with zero environmental incidents.

Sonic technology. Boart Longyear will also feature its sonic tooling line at PDAC 2015. Later this year it will launch a compact sonic rig that provides an overall safer working environment and is ideally suited for a wide range of environmental and infrastructure drilling applications, including difficult-to-reach drill sites.

Electronic interface. Boart Longyear continues to grow its Drill Control Interface (DCi) technology. The DCi provides drillers with a fully electronic interface to safely and efficiently operate underground drilling equipment, away from moving parts and hydraulic hoses.

Roller latch head assemblies. Boart Longyear is globally recognized as the leader in exploration drilling technology and is dedicated to the development of diamond core drilling products. It will feature its recently redesigned Roller Latch™ Technology, which eliminates the low strength, play and jamming associated with traditional “swing-out” latch mechanisms.
