Axiomtek Introduces a Reliable Factory Automation Solution, EtherCAT Master Controller- IPC932-230-FL-ECM

The fanless embedded computer IPC932-230-FL-ECM has been verified for interoperability with IntervalZero EtherCAT Master which is based on Acontis EtherCAT Master Stack and IntervalZero RTX real-time extension module. The high quality industrial computer supports LGA1150 socket for 4th generation Intel® Core™ i7/i5/i3 (Haswell/Haswell Refresh) and Celeron® processor with the Intel® Q87 Express chipset. Equipped with various front-facing I/O connectors, the advanced EtherCAT master controller features compact construction with fanless design and wide operating temperature range at -10°C to 50°C for withstanding harsh operating conditions. The IPC932-230-FL-ECM is an ideal solution for industrial motion control, factory automation, multi-task machine control and internet of things applications.

High speed

Typically, with Axiomtek’s high-end EtherCAT master controller, the process cycle times are 50~250 µs, while traditional fieldbus systems take 5~15 ms for an update.

Synchronization

EtherCAT employs accurate alignment of distributed clocks. The distributed clocks are adjusted based on other clocks’ run-time offset so that a very precise network-wide time base is available with a jitter less than 1 microsecond. This accuracy is ideal for synchronized motion control, and integration of measurement tasks within the same network.

Simplified cabling and cost effective

EtherCAT supports Line, Star, and Tree topology. In economic Line topology there is no switch needed. Axiomtek EtherCAT master controller needs only one Ethernet port to cascade all the distributed slave devices. To fulfill different application needs, the IPC932-230-FL-ECM provides two PCI express expansion slots. Front-panel DVI-I output allows user to directly connect to a LCD panel. Four COM ports and a DIO port provide general industrial control options. This all-in-one embedded controller also comes with two easy-to-install 2.5” SATA HDD drive bays, one CFast™ socket, six USB ports, one Gigabit Ethernet ports, and audio (Line-in/ MIC-out).
