AngloGold Ashanti said today that the workers’ sit-in at its Tau Tona shaft near Carletonville has been resolved.
Company spokesman Alan Fine said, “The expectation is that people will return to work from Sunday.” The sit-in ended after AngloGold made a compromise with workers regarding their safety bonuses and when they would be issued.
The company will hand out the bonuses “some time next week.” Mine workers were not immediately available for comment.
