Voting closes but results of Pebble referendum not available for two weeks
Forbes reports that it will be another two week before we know the results of the Pebble mine project referendum:
Municipal elections in southwest Alaska’s Lake and Peninsula Borough are conducted by mail. They will be counted when the canvassing board meets Oct. 17
Opponents of the Pebble mine project were handed a set back today when the courts ruled against anti-Pebble activists who charged that the state’s system for permitting mineral exploration activity is unconstitutional.
