VIDEO: American Vanadium on track to building US’ only vanadium mine

One of the biggest challenges facing the renewable energy sector is how to economically store energy.

As an article in Forbes once pointed out,  “what society really wants and needs is energy on demand.”

One little talked about element is emerging as a cost-efficient solution: Vanadium. This element helps batteries store the energy from solar panels, wind turbines, and other renewable power sources.

MINING.com recently caught up with American Vanadium, the company that’s developing the only vanadium mine in the US.

Executive Chairman Ron MacDonald – a former Canadian politician – told us about the company’s progress and its recent partnership with GILDEMEISTER energy solutions, a German company that makes the CellCube battery which uses vanadium.
