Mining’s old guard needs strong medicine
A new report details subpar investor returns in the mining industry over the last decade, particularly big cap diversified companies which have not adapted to new realities.
DiamondCorp Plc (JSE: DMC) owns the Lace project in South Africa.
The company is working on rehabilitating the diamondiferous kimberlite mine — famed for its fancy pink and purple gems.
It forecasts resources of 13.4 million carats will support mining for approximately 25 years and it has a life-of-mine offtake agreement in place with Tiffany & Co.
Company chairman Eaun Worthington discusses the mining operations in this interview.
