UrbanGold Minerals (TSXV: UGM) expanded its land position in the Troilus area in Quebec with the acquisition of 56 new mineral claims totalling 3,046 hectares.

In a press release, the miner said the new claims cover under-explored prospective ground located within the Frotet greenstone belt and contain several gold, copper and silver occurrences which have never been drill tested.

As soon as the claims were acquired, the Ottawa-based company sent a field crew with two geologists to the area to carry out helicopter-assisted surface exploration.

Troilus is located approximately 100 kilometres of the Route du Nord, an isolated wilderness road in central Quebec that connects Chibougamau with the James Bay road.

The property covers the ‘nose’ of a regional fold. Underlying formations consist primarily of gabbro and small sills of pyroxenite and peridotite.
