Troilus Gold finds new zone open at Quebec mine

Troilus Gold Corp. of Toronto reports finding a new mineralized zone in the southeast part of the J zone at the past producing Troilus gold-copper mine in the Abitibi region, 175 km from Chibougamau, Quebec. The gold-rich area is about 30 metres from surface and open at depth.

Highlights of the new zone include:

  • Hole TLG-J419-091: 1.29 g/t gold and 0.09% copper over 22 metres (1.43 g/t gold equivalent) and 2.35 g/t gold and 0.14% copper over 8 metres (2.57 g/t gold equivalent); and
  • Hole TLG-J419-092: 0.950 g/t gold and 0.10% copper over 19 metres (1.11 g/t gold equivalent), 2.93 g/t gold and 0.05% copper over 8 metres (3.00 g/t gold equivalent), and 1.96 g/t gold and 0.08% copper over 9 metres (2.09 g/t gold equivalent).

Troilus has a 40,000-metre drill program planned for 2019. Targets at the Z87 South, J, Z87 and J4 North zones will be of prime interest.
