Trillium Gold drills larger mineralized area at Newman Todd

Trillium Gold Mines (TSXV: TGM) says this year’s drilling at the Newman Todd gold complex has outlined more widespread mineralization than was historically interpreted. Evidence points toward a system that is considerably larger and more integrated than previously thought.

The 100%-owned Newman Todd project, including the adjacent Rivard claims, lies in the Red Lake gold camp of northwest Ontario.  Trillium released assays representing 6,708 metres in 15 holes. Highlights include the following:

Newman Todd:

  • 17.6 metres grading 1.35 g/t gold and 13.2 metres at 1.24 g/t, including 0.5 metre at 20.5 g/t gold in hole NT21-185;
  • 7 metres grading 7.5 g/t gold, including 1 metre at 45.9 g/t, and 4.8 metres at 4.95 g/t, including 0.7 metre at 33.88 g/t and 0.4 metre 54.7 g/t gold in hole NT21-197;
  • 52.3 metres grading 1.09 g/t gold, including 0.7 metre at 11.5 g/t gold in hole NT21-188;
  • 3.3 metres grading 8.06 g/t gold, including 0.4 metre at 61.9 g/t in hole NT21-190; and
  • 21.3 metres grading 3.55 g/t, including 4.3 metres at 13.8 g/t, including 1 metre at 35.15 g/t gold.

Rivard:

  • 0.3 metre grading 15.9 g/t gold in hole RV21-32;
  • 0.7 metre grading 54.49 g/t gold, including 0.4 metre at 95.3 g/t gold in hole RV21-33; and
  • 2.2 metres grading 25.23 g/t gold, including 0.3 metre at 116 g/t and 0.3 metre at 67.7 g/t gold.

Historically, the Newman Todd property has received only shallow drilling to a depth of about 300 metres. Trillium is testing deeper potential down to 485 metres thus far. The company hopes to  find considerable resources at depth as existing gold mines in the Red Lake, Timmins and Kirkland Lake camps are productive to 2,000 metres and beyond.

Trillium has is also conducting a program of eight planned holes at Gold Centre this summer, with assays pending.
