Tri Origin Exploration has reached its second exploration agreement with De Beers in as many months, allowing the diamond miner to conduct exploration and drilling on one of its properties.
The junior announced an agreement for its South Abitibi property in late September. The new deal is for Tri Origin’s Nipissing Cobalt project, which is 5 km northwest of the South Abitibi property and 10 km west of Cobalt, Ontario.
De Beers has identified targets on both properties. The agreements allow the company to conduct preliminary drilling and if kimberlite is found, to evaluate them for diamond content. Once the results of the programs are in-hand the companies could work out more comprehensive property earn-in agreements.
Both drill programs are expected to start this month.
