And remember the advice of the grizzled prospector, Howard, in the movie classic the Treasure of the Sierra Madre on how the mining industry actually works:
A thousand men, say, go searchin’ for gold. After six months, one of them’s lucky: one out of a thousand. His find represents not only his own labor, but that of nine hundred and ninety-nine others to boot. That’s six thousand months, five hundred years, scramblin’ over a mountain, goin’ hungry and thirsty.
An ounce of gold, mister, is worth what it is because of the human labor that went into the findin’ and the gettin’ of it.
Synopsis: Mickey Fulp writes in a clear and personal style. He enjoys explaining mining concepts. He is a secular bull, believing in a long-term upward trend for commodities. Regarding investment advice, Fulp warns his readers about the actual investment strategy they should follow:
As I have reiterated time and time again, junior resource “investing” is actually gambling. Use your discretionary funds, your “fun money”, money that you can afford to lose without risking the house, the wife, and the kids. My trading style is designed to skew the gambling odds in my favor and turn that fun money into more money.

We believe that markets are frequently inefficient in their assessment of the fundamental speculative potential of high risk ventures, particularly those involved in resource or energy exploration. Inefficiencies arise through market mis-understanding of a play’s potential, as well as simple lack of awareness for undervalued plays and excessive awareness for overvalued plays. The stocks we focus on rarely have intrinsic value in the form of cash flow generating capacity.

Who are these guys and how do they keep finding winner after winner before other analysts do?
The “secret” to their success is simple. It’s hard work. A LOT of it. The other key to the success of HRA publications is the background of the editors, David Coffin and Eric Coffin. They are brothers, born in a mining town and raised in the industry. They have both spent decades in the resource business. This gives them a background of real practical experience that no other editors can match. That’s why they can spot winners before anyone else. They have “been there and done that” on both the geology and the market fronts. They’ve run exploration programs, helped form and structure companies and they know what works and what doesn’t. They know everyone in the sector and can quickly check the facts and the management on new opportunities. HRA readers profit from their special insight into metals and exploration gained from over 50 years of combined experience in the resource sector. It’s an unbeatable combination that delivers unbeatable returns for HRA readers. Not politics, not rumors, not regurgitated broker research – just hard work, real insight and real gains.

I’ve been investing in mining stocks for years…. a few months back I was approached by a group called Seismic Research. They are an Aussie based newsletter that write research on Mining & Exploration companies…. Now I’m sure they are paid by the company they write about though I don’t care.. they still have presented me with far greater buying opportunities then my broker has… the advantage is that they send their members the research, then a few days later they distribute the same article to mass audience… It’s allow me to punt on a few stocks then sell into high volume…. As long as you know how to utilize investment newsletters you should quite easily make returns….
