India to sign mining pact with Mongolia soon, govt source says
Companies such as Adani, Hindalco and Vedanta have expressed an interest in sourcing copper from Mongolia.
Glencore Xstrata will just be called Glencore, according to a report from the Financial Times.
The name change will be rolled out in 2014. The FT learned of the change from “. . . people familiar with the situation.”
Kicked off in 2012, the merger of Swiss-based commodities giants Glencore and Xstrata was a protracted saga fraught with repeated setbacks and delays. Regulatory approval wrapped up in early 2013.
Glencore Xstrara is the world’s 12th largest company, according to Fortune Global 500.
