Tersa Earth Innovations has appointed Glen Clark, former Premier of the province of British Columbia, to its board of directors, effective immediately.

Tersa’s technology turns mining tailings from environmental risks into value assets. The company said Clark’s extensive political experience and corporate leadership will provide insights to enhance Tersa Earth’s strategic positioning in both regulatory and business landscapes.

“The company’s patented TersaClean technology… addresses one of the most pressing environmental challenges in the mining industry while unlocking a reservoir of untapped value,” Clark said in a media statement.

Clark pointed to Tersa’s dual focus on sustainability and asset recovery as “the kind of innovative approach that can redefine an entire industry for the better.”

Tersa’s patented TersaClean process, a breakthrough of UBC associate professor of chemical engineering Vikramaditya G. Yadav, offers the global mining industry a scalable, high-impact solution for asset recovery and sustainable transformation. In Canada alone, the opportunity is estimated at C$10 billion a year, the company said.

Clark held various positions with The Jim Pattison Group for over 22 years, serving as President and COO, directly managing over C$10 billion in annual revenue. He is also a board member of Westshore Terminals Investment Corporation and Canfor Corporation.

In addition to serving as Premier of British Columbia, Clark was also former Minister of Finance and Corporate Relations, and Minister of Employment and Investment.
