Stunning photos of Egyptian quarry workers

Panorama profiles limestone operation in Upper Egypt’s Minya:

According to a study on quarries’ child labor prepared by Wadi El Nil Association for Protection of Quarry Workers, most of these children start working in quarries between the ages of 9 and 18. But while filming the story, I met 7- and 8-year-old children working under the harsh conditions. The study says child laborers often work in flipping bricks and loading cars. It adds that they also work with rudimentary and unsafe machines used to cut blocks of limestone and pack the powder used to make tiles.
