The February 2022 acquisition by Epiroc, a giant in the mining and infrastructure industries manufacturing space, along with solutions for automation, digitalization, and electrification, has further propelled CR’s growth.  

CR continues to expand its presence in Africa with products designed to address miners’ needs.

Complete LHD Solutions

CR has aligned its underground solutions to miners’ needs, from productivity and maintenance, and offers a complete range of underground GET systems. Its range of underground GET is OEM-agnostic, with GET and wear package solutions for a wide range of LHD machines.

It offers weld-on options for extended wear life, direct OEM replacement solutions, and Wearpact^TM its flagship solution for safer changeouts and increased machine availability.

Wearpact is the proven solution for higher productivity after 20+ years digging. CR is pleased to announce the development of Wearpact Light, suited to LHDs with a payload of 10t and less, to be released in 2024.

Stronger and Lighter Cast Lips

Unplanned downtime is expensive, from additional costs to lost productivity, not to mention the additional staff required to maintain equipment.

Cast lips are cast in a single piece, enabling a more sophisticated design for better digging performance and a stronger lip without weak points. The smooth transitions in our cast lip designs distribute stress evenly and avoid heat-affected zones, which can crack under pressure, reducing maintenance requirements.

Adapters are integrated into the lip, eliminating the need for weld-on adapters, reducing safety risks from hot work, and requiring fewer components.

CR engineers cast lips for your entire loading fleet, from wheel loaders to rope shovels and excavators, complemented with a complete range of GET, including teeth, adapters, boxpoints, shrouds, wing shrouds, heel shrouds, retainers, and more.

Its RazerEdge^TM range of cast lips for smaller excavators under 250t and DecaEdge^TM cast lips for wheel loaders are particularly suited to the African market.

The DecaEdge lip has been proven to deliver over 17,000 hours with zero maintenance or downtime recorded, saving on preventative and reactive maintenance.

Partners in Africa

CR has also partnered with a number of dealers in Africa to help provide the site service and aftersales support our customers require. 

Together with Paramount Tracks, CR has successfully delivered our world-class SaberEdge™ and Stingray™ cast lips and GET systems for PH2800, PC8000, and R9350 machines.

Our partner in Botswana, Parts Sales Botswana, has supported a growing fleet of Hitachi EX1900, EX2000, and EX2600 hydraulic excavators over the last three years.

In the South African iron ore and manganese region, our partner Meano Engineering in Kathu boasts the first CR DecaEdge wheel loader cast lip system in Africa, and we are very proud of our partnership delivering the first repeat order for this system. Meano also has 100t, 300t, and 500t full cast lip systems.

Our regional inventory pipeline is managed by having inventory at our customers’ doorsteps thanks to our partners and our own inventory held in Johannesburg to support their demand.
