Sandvik Mining is pleased to announce that the Company has officially inaugurated a brand new corporate building in Guadalajara, capital of Jalisco state in Mexico.
The new corporate building, which involved an investment of US$7.5 million, includes offices and service workshops covering a total surface of 4,900 square meters and was designed and built in compliance with the highest standards of safety and comfort for our employees and operations.
With the inauguration of its new offices in Guadalajara, Sandvik Mining strengthens its offer for its Mexican clients in a mining market that is growing steadily.
During the inauguration ceremony, Gary Huges, President of Sandvik Mining, highlighted the relevance of the investment for the Company. “The development of these new facilities reflects our confidence in the growth of the mining business in Mexico, which is demonstrated by the strong demand for products and services experienced by mining companies operating in the country.”
“The inauguration of these offices demonstrate our confidence, not only in the local mining industry, but also in the Mexican economy’s growth possibilities and stability”, said David Gardner, President of Sandvik Mining Americas.
“At Sandvik we are commemorating 150 years of history, a history that lead us here today, we hope that from here we will continue together on a journey of success and growth for many years to come”, Gardner added.
The mining sector is the major employer in Mexico, the largest private investor and the sector that most commitments make to implement world-class standards to ensure sustainable development.
“No doubt that Sandvik wants to be part of this development, contributing from its position as a leading global supplier of equipment, tools, services and technical solutions for the mining industry”, said Patricio Apablaza, VP Sales at Sandvik Mining México.
The ceremony was also attended by the Swedish Ambassador to Mexico, Jorgen Persson; the president of the municipality of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Alberto Uribe Camacho; the Business Development Secretary of the Government of Jalisco, Jaime Eduardo Martínez Flores; the Investment Projects Deputy Director at ProMexico, Eizabeth Tello Casillas; as well as workers and representatives from clients of Sandvik Mining Mexico.
