Mining’s old guard needs strong medicine
A new report details subpar investor returns in the mining industry over the last decade, particularly big cap diversified companies which have not adapted to new realities.

During the AIMEX mining exhibition in Sydney, SAFEmine presented Thiess Australia with an award to mark the delivery of the 10,000th SAFEmine unit. Accepting the award, Tony Brand, Machine Guidance Technician of Thiess said: “the relationship between Thiess and SAFEmine is a role model for how good support and interactive fine-tuning to customer needs can lead to a painless implementation of a working collision avoidance system”.
