Chinalco could invest $426 million in Suriname bauxite project
If approved by parliament, Chinalco could begin construction by the middle of next year.
BIV reports an attempted robbery at the Aurizona gold mine in Brazil Wednesday was thwarted:
According to a release, armed robbers took employees hostage from a nearby village and attempted to force entry to Luna Gold’s (TSX-V:LGC) gold storage facility located at the mine site in Maranhão, Brazil.
All of the hostages were released unharmed and no Aurizona employees were injured. No gold was stolen, the company said.
