Freeport Indonesia to process 400,000t of copper concentrate at new smelter
Earlier this month, Freeport obtained an export permit for the rest of the year from the government.
Rio Tinto Exploration Canada (RTEC) started mobilizing two drills, fuel, and other supplies to the Janice Lake copper-silver project in Saskatchewan, project owner Forum Energy Metals (TSXV: FMC) announced this week.
According to the miner, RTEC has engaged Team Drilling, a partnership with Aboriginal-owned Athabasca Basin Development to commence drilling in mid-February.
The plan is for both drills to initially focus on the Rafuse target, a 2.8-kilometre-long priority target of copper mineralization at surface that was developed during the mapping, prospecting and geophysical program this summer.

Forum said that further drilling is also planned on the Jansem prospect to follow up on thick intervals of surface copper mineralization up to 51.8 meters grading 0.57% copper, outlined in 2019.
The company also reported that the 80-person Burbidge Lake Camp that was set up at the centre of the property last September is now fully accessible through a 110-kilometre haul road that was built last winter.
Located in north-central Saskatchewan within the Wollaston Domain, the Janice Lake project extends for 38,250 hectares.
Rio Tinto optioned the project in May 2019 and can earn an 80% interest by spending C$30 million in addition to making separate option payments to Forum Energy Metals and Transition Metals Corp.
