As reported on allAfrica, Rio Tinto Coal Mozambique will offer internships and research projects for mining engineering and mineral processing engineering students of Tete Polytechnic (ISPT) at its Benga open cast mine in the province of Tete.
According to the Managing Director of Rio Tinto Coal Mozambique, Eric Finlayson, “the training of Mozambican students is a priority for Rio Tinto, because it responds to the company’s need for skilled labour and promotes sustainable development in Mozambique”.
During the time with Rio Tinto, each student will have a tutor to accompany them, giving training and guidance. Each student will also receive a monthly allowance paid by Rio Tinto
