Proposals are sought for how to increase mine production at lower costs; how to reduce mining energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions; how to implement smart, autonomous mining systems; and how to reduce environmental risk and long-term liabilities.

Sumitomo and MineHub have been in discussions since 2020 and have been closely collaborating on product development since then.

The measured and indicated resource was 14.7 million oz in 572 million tonnes grading 0.8 g/t gold.

“Our focus is shifting to securing homes for our in-ground inventory that is not yet been committed,” Chief Executive Officer Tim Gitzel said.

The assets have been on care and maintenance since mid-2018.

The company’s reserves at operating mines stood at 13.7 million oz gold and 111 million oz silver as of year-end 2021.

In order to reach its goal, the company is establishing targets across both Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions to support a 1.5°C trajectory.
