As world leaders gather at the United Nations climate summit in Egypt this week, another international meeting is underway in Jamaica to decide the fate of the planet’s oceans.
The world’s biggest miner predicts nine in 10 cars sold by 2040 will be EVs, helping to boost worldwide usage of key battery materials including nickel.
Results of drilling completed between January 2020 and May 2022 at Beatons Creek includes an indicated resource of 3.1 million tonnes at 2.4 g/t gold for 234,000 oz. gold.
"Pressure to approve new mines quickly could mean not enough time is allocated for consultation and impact assessment," said Helen Clark, the former New Zealand prime minister and chair of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative.
