Toronto-based QMX Gold Corp. has released high grade results from its ongoing drilling program at the Val d’Or East zone near Val d’Or. Half of the planned 26 holes have been completed at the Bonnefond target with the best assays reaching 39.5 and 31.5 g/t gold.
Core from work at the tonalitic plug returned 31.55 g/t gold over 1.6 metre within an intersection of 3.31 g/t over 26.8 metres within a longer intersection that averaged 1.97 g/t gold over 87 metres. A second hole returned 1.94 g/t over 143.7 metres, including 12.34 g/t over 8.1 metres. A third hole returned 1.92 g/t gold over 147.8 metres, including 5.11 g/t over 4.0 metres.
Drilling in the shear zone in volcanics had the highest grade – 39.49 g/t gold over 2.4 metres within a 8.0 metre section that averaged 11.95 g/t. Another intersection in the same hole returned 5.54 g/t over 1.4 metre.
Five other holes were drilled in the shear zone. They returned 9.01 g/t gold over 3.4 metres; 12.23 g/t over 3.2 metres and 4.35 g/t over 3.9 metres; 7.20 g/t gold over 2.5 metres; 1.69 g/t gold over 40.9 metres, including 3.90 g/t over 6.2 metres and 3.13 g/t over 7.9 metres; and 6.06 g/t gold over 5.0 metres.
QMX has been an infill program on the western side of the tonalite intrusion between surface and 400 metres deep.
