Zimbabwe lithium miners want royalties to be linked to prices
The battery metal has slumped from a peak in late 2022 amid oversupply and weak demand from the electric vehicle sector.
Platinum could fare better than palladium for the rest of the year Deutsche Bank argues in its latest commodities report:
“While we do not expect a meaningful recovery in European auto markets [where diesel cars that use platinum account for the bulk of sales], we do expect some stability in demand over the next couple of quarters or so. Â Furthermore we expect that platinum supply could see further cutbacks as economic/social pressures in South Africa mount.
“Furthermore, we expect that platinum could benefit from a stronger gold price, which is anticipated to appreciate in the second half of 2012 as we look for further rounds of accommodative monetary policy to support global growth.”
