PhotoSat completes stereo satellite elevation mapping of Newstrike Capital’s Ana Paula gold deposit in Guerrero, Mexico.

PhotoSat has completed digital elevation mapping of Newstrike’s Ana Paula gold deposit in Guerrero State, Mexico, using stereo satellite photos from WorldView-2, one of the world’s newest commercial high resolution imaging satellites. The WorldView-2 satellite is owned by DigitalGlobe of Longmont Colorado, the world’s largest commercial satellite company.  The digital elevation map consists of an elevation point every metre and contours with 1m elevation intervals.  Based on comparisons between the stereo satellite elevation mapping and thousands of ground survey points on similar projects, the accuracy of the stereo satellite elevation mapping for areas of bare ground is expected to be better than 50cm.  The stereo satellite elevation mapping will be used for project planning and engineering studies for the Ana Paula gold deposit.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to be able to provide the newest high resolution stereo satellite photos and elevation mapping technology to advance Newstrike’s Ana Paula gold project in Guerrero, Mexico. Ana Paula is an exciting advanced stage gold exploration project that should provide significant economic benefits to Newstrike and to this region of Mexico.” says PhotoSat president Gerry Mitchell.
