Lithium One commences pumping tests at Sal de Vida lithium-potash brine project

Lithium One Inc. announced on Wednesday the commencement of a pumping test program at its flagship Sal de Vida lithium-potash brine project in Argentina (pictured), one of the largest and the highest-grade lithium and potash brine projects in the world. The TSX Venture-listed company traded little changed on the news and like shares in other juniors in the sector is very volatile. Lithium One is down over 10% so far this year and has not been able to reach the record high it hit back in August 2009 when the Argentina project was first acquired.

Canada Lithium confirms Québec lithium mine viability; schedules site construction in Q3, 2011

Canada Lithium Corp. (TSX: CLQ; U.S. OTC: CLQMF) announced today the results of the updated feasibility study for the development of a mine and lithium carbonate processing facility at its Québec Lithium Project near Val d’Or, Québec. A National Instrument 43-101 compliant technical report respecting the updated feasibility study will be filed on SEDAR within 14 days. The June technical report will replace the technical report dated January 5, 2011, that was prepared in respect of a feasibility study for the project that was completed in December, 2010.

Mammoth Energy Group continues to acquire Chilean lithium assets

Mammoth Energy Group, a lithium and alternative energy mining company, announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary Compania Lithium Investments Limitada of Chile has signed a Letter of Intent to acquire six concessions for a total of 2471 acres (1000 hectares) of lithium concessions located in the Salar de laco in northeast Chile. "The Salar de laco is approximately 10 miles from the border of Argentina and approximately fifty miles away from the Salar de Atacama, Chile's largest mined lithium reserve," said William Lieberman, President of Mammoth Energy Group.

Nemaska Exploration reported on Wednesday drill results for its Whabouchi lithium project. Highlights were 53.5 m at 1.81% Li2O, 39.6 m at 1.56% Li2O, 13.5 m at 1.81% Li2O and 17.0 m at 1.71% Li2O.
