The following statement was issued by National Mining Association (NMA) President and CEO Hal Quinn in response to a discussion draft on climate policy released today by House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman John Dingell (D-Mich.) and Energy and Air Quality Subcommittee Chairman Rick Boucher (D-Va.):
“The National Mining Association stands ready to work with the House Energy and Commerce Committee and all members of Congress to develop comprehensive federal climate change policy legislation. We are committed to playing a constructive role in the development and adoption of policy measures and technologies to address climate change concerns and the inextricably linked issues of domestic and global energy supply and security, economic growth and development.
