Oman firm replaces sanctioned Alrosa in Angolan diamond miner
Alrosa, which held a 41% interest in the Catoca operation, has been sanctioned by the US, EU and their allies.
The Star, Star West and Orion properties are located in Saskatchewan, Canada some 65 km east of Prince Albert.
The Star kimberlite is 100% owned by Shore Gold Inc, which also owns 60% of the adjacent Star West and Orion kimberlites (the balance is being held by Newmont Mining Corp.).
A recently completed positive Prefeasibility Study (PFS) reported a probable mineral reserve of 279 million diluted tonnes at a weighted average grade of 12.5 carats per hundred tonnes containing 35 million carats at a weighted average price of $226 per carat (US$192) over the Life of Mine (LOM)….more at Mine Developments on SupplyMine
