Money is worthless so pay me in gold: Montana legislator

Newly reelected Montana lawmaker Jerry O’Neil wants his salary in gold since he has no faith in US dollars, according to Politico.
“It is very likely the bottom will fall out from under the U.S. dollar. Only so many dollars can be printed before they have no value,” said O’Neil, who believes gold-backed currency is specified in the constitution.
“I believe that if you take a look at the Constitution, that’s what it says. Actually, I think we’ve gotten a tremendously long way from it,” O’Neil told Politico.
The Republican lawmaker earns about $7,000 annually.
