More than 50 engineering and ICT students of the University of Queensland have been awarded with industry-funded scholarships, as published on the UQ’s homepage. One of the new scholarships is provided by the Centre for Geotechnical Engineering supported by Rio Tinto, Anglo Gold Ashanti, BHP Billiton and Golder Associates and offers four students a $10,000 support per annum for three years.
“Not only do industry-funded scholarships assist students financially, they also provide valuable access to industry mentors and essential work experience opportunities,” Professor Schaffer [the UQ Faculty of EAIT’s Executive Dean] said.
“I am grateful to our industry partners for the support they provide, and I hope these partnerships will continue to benefit our students in the future.”
