Micronics has released EEMIS a new Earthworks Contractor Guidance system for the Mineral Exploration and Oil/ Gas Industry. EEMIS (Exploration Earthworks Management Information System) guides Contractors without Survey pegs to prepare drillpads and lay pipelines via a rugged coloured touch screen cabin display.
EEMIS makes cumbersome paper maps obsolete and increase productivity because it keeps pad preparation progress up to date, drastically, reduces mistakes and streamlines reporting to the client Exploration Company. The operator can update his client by a thumb drive or emailing data electronically. The client’s Environmental and Heritage departments can supply electronic maps to the operator showing environmentally sensitive areas, Aboriginal heritage sites and Access corridors. EEMIS displays these areas with distance and bearing to nearest area in an onscreen toolbox. A visual warning is displayed and a piezo siren can be activated in the cabin if the operator breaches a buffer zone of sensitive areas. EEMIS has been designed with close collaboration of Bulldozer and Grader drivers for operators with limited computer knowledge and minimal screen input. EEMIS can do much more and can be upgraded for automated reporting.
