Metso continues investing in valve production and services now in the US

Metso announces the investment to expand its North American facilities located in Shrewsbury Massachusetts, USA for the valve operations. This investment is in line with the previous years’ investment decisions to develop Metso’s valve services globally. After the Shrewsbury expansion has been completed, Metso has new state-of-the art facilities and equipment near to each significant market areas.

The expansion investment includes construction of additional 7,500 square meter (80 K Sq Ft) and will be completed in the spring of 2012. It is estimated that the costs of the expansion are about EUR 4 million (USD 6 million)

This investment will allow us to further expand our position as well as enter into new areas”, he continues.

Metso’s North American industrial valve business currently employs about 500 persons in USA. After the expansion, the major part of the personnel will be located in Shrewsbury.
