Alacer Gold announces smooth production ramp up at the Çöpler Gold Mine in Turkey

Alacer Gold Corp is pleased to announce that production at the Çöpler Gold Mine in Turkey is ramping up smoothly. Initial recovery rates from the run-of-mine heap leach ores are very encouraging. Çöpler produced first gold as announced on December 22, 2010. Gold production at Çöpler was 512 ounces in December 2010 and 8,590 ounces in January 2011. In February 2011 production is expected to be approximately 9,000 ounces.

Canada Lithium shares halted for a mineral resource estimate do-over

Canada Lithium said today it will have to take another look at a resource estimate it used to fund a Can$202-million open pit mine in Quebec. The company said that it was unable to reconcile its own results with a previously announced 43-101-compliant report dated Oct. 28, 2010. In January the company raised Can$110 million via a bought-deal financing.

AMIRA’s new porphyry copper-gold project

What AMIRA describes as “one of exploration’s most important geological projects, P765A (Geochemical and Geological Halos in Green Rocks and Lithocaps), was completed as a resounding success in December 2010, and a new project P1060 (Enhanced Geochemical Targeting in Magmatic-Hydrothermal Systems) will shortly go on circulation to continue this work.”
