The 56 year old who built Xstrata into one of the world’s biggest mining firms and then sold it to Glencore, is tipped to be on the verge of landing his first big fish.

Wall Street stalwart Marc Faber, also known as Dr Doom, has emerged as 2015's biggest gold bull saying confidence in central banks are about to collapse.

It produced over 4 million silver equiv. oz. in Q4, hitting an annual record of 15.25 million silver equiv. oz. for the year.

Bullion is still being pulled out of physical gold and silver-backed ETFs.

John emphasizes the belief that this period parallels the mid-70s bull market correction, and when asked about the depth of the current sell-off, noted that, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen, in the 40 plus years I’ve been following the sector, the shares cheaper in relation to the price of bullion as they are now.”

The measure would only be imposed to miners that consume more than 150 liters (40 gallons) of water per second.

The gold miner said it expected to produce 420,000 ounces at its only operating mine in Egypt this year, missing some analyst expectations.
