Canada began imposing on Tuesday a 100% levy on EVs shipped from China, having also announced in late August a 25% tariff on Chinese steel and aluminum products.
The October monthly contract traded at a $22 premium to November on Tuesday, hitting a new high after the spread jumped by more than $9 the previous day.
