ARANZ Geo Ltd, developer of 3D geological modelling software Leapfrog Mining, has announced that it has signed a new umbrella software licence with leading mining group Rio Tinto. Rio Tinto has been using Leapfrog since 2007 and the signing of the agreement reflects increased usage of Leapfrog across the group. A Rio Tinto spokesperson said that “Leapfrog Mining is used by Rio Tinto geologists in Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, United States, and Peru. In addition to the use of Leapfrog for modelling exploration data for copper, iron ore, coal and uranium; Leapfrog is also used for project evaluation, targeting and structural modelling.” (more…)
