Komatsu Mining dishes about the SDX-2200

“We utilize a new pad in the shaft and we are able to utilize the full capacity of the bearing to mitigate the shaft deflection and achieve higher load,” Komatsu Mining Engineering Manager, Todd Kirkpatrick, said about the company’s SDX-2200 (CEMA E+) conveyor idler rolls.

Interviewed by MINING.com’s Michael McCrae at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017, Kirkpatrick explained that this equipment has been proven in the field to be superior to cartridge-type or conventional labyrinth seals used in many heavy-duty idlers.

Komatsu Mining exec also talked about the company’s High Angle Conveyor System, used by both mining and industrial applications for elevating or lowering materials continuously from one level to another.

The HAC, he said, conveys properly sized material at very steep angles, high lifts, and capacities over 8,000 MTPH.
