Skills Requirements
- At least 5 years relevant experience in a heavy industry, backed by 3 years in a senior position
- Sound knowledge and experience in working on LIMS and MES
- SAP4HANA and COUPA knowledge and experience
- Technical and analytical proficiency
- Sound knowledge of LECO, ICP and wet chemistry
- Sound knowledge of crushing and screening operations
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Planning and organizational ability.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good working knowledge and proven Computer Literacy (MS Office Suite)
- Initiative and result driven
- Ability to work under pressure

JOB OBJECTIVES
In this role you will be reporting to the Services Manager for the following:
- Management of all laboratory and final product operations, ensuring the provision of accurate analytical / chemical services, quality assurance, accountability of final product, efficient internal process operations at both Laboratory and final products operations, preparation, storage, and dispatch of final product.
- Accurate analysis of internal production streams to ensure efficient operations
- Accurate accounting of furnaces production tonnages
- Surveying of final product stock, accounting and stock management
- Oversee sampling, analytical testing, product preparation, storage, and dispatch processes.
- Liaise with transport companies for the dispatch of final products
- Ensures compliance with all relevant standards and legislation, including upholding the SANAS accreditation of the Laboratory and environmental regulations, while maintaining optimum quality, safety, and productivity within both the laboratory and final product sections.
- Maintain SANAS accreditation and compliance with ISO, NLA, and Glencore quality standards.
- Plan and control budgets, manpower, equipment, and resources for both laboratory and final product areas.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards, environmental legislation, and hazardous material management requirements.
- Lead, train, and develop laboratory and Final product teams to ensure high performance and accountability.
- Approve and communicate analytical results, product quality data, and dispatch reports to relevant departments.
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reports for audits and traceability.
- Actively drive improvement projects to completion.
- Drive operational excellence, safety, and cost efficiency across both functions.
