About Mount Milligan Mine
Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
About The Opportunity
The Coordinator, Continuous Improvement supports the delivery of site-wide CI initiatives by providing administrative, analytical, and systems support. Reporting to the Superintendent¸ Continuous Improvement and working closely with cross-functional teams, the role contributes to data-driven decision-making, performance visibility, and the development of efficient CI tools and processes that drive operational improvements.
- Provide day-to-day coordination and administrative support to CI initiatives across site functional groups (i.e. gather inputs, follow up on actions, and support initiative execution.)
- Assist site functional groups in tracking initiative progress, maintaining pipelines, and ensuring alignment to site priorities.
- Prepare and maintain standard CI documentation, templates, and reporting structures.
- Assist in identifying inefficiencies through data analysis and engagement with site functional groups.
- Support root cause analysis activities and the development of initiative improvement plans.
- Participate in time studies, workflow mapping, and other CI activities as required.
- Participate in CI, Lean, and change management training and apply learnings to daily work.
- Support CI awareness and adoption across the site.
- Support site groups with developing and maintaining dashboards and reports to track KPIS and initiative performance.
- Support financial analysis including basic cost-benefit analysis and value realization reporting.
- Support the continuous improvement of CI systems, tools, and reporting frameworks.
- Support the streamlining of data flows, reporting processes, and visual management systems.
About You
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in an analytical, technical, or operational support role (co-op/internship considered).
- Exposure to continuous improvement, operations, or project environments is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite, with advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerApps an asset.
- Experience or interest in data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI) and data handling.
- Ability to work with and organize large datasets from multiple sources.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Clear communication and ability to work across all levels of the organization.
- Self-motivated, coachable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
Assets
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or CI methodologies
- Basic understanding of change management principles and/or methodologies.
- Experience supporting reporting, dashboards, or process improvement initiatives.
Working Conditions
- Camp based role working 12-hour days on rotation for 14 days on 14 days off rotation. Lodging and meals are provided on site.
- Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time
- Exposure to indoor/outdoor environments, heavy equipment, noise, and moving parts.
- PPE always required.
- Safety-sensitive environment with zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
