Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Manager, Tailings, Water and Environment, you will be part of the TMA Department. As a Project Engineer, you will support the delivery of site‑based capital projects and studies while promoting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental stewardship.
- Support the execution of the TMA and Water Resources project portfolio;
- Assist with site‑based capital projects throughout the project development lifecycle;
- Contribute to the development of business cases, project scopes, and technical feasibility reviews in collaboration with project sponsors and senior engineers;
- Support coordination with external engineering consultants to complete detailed engineering deliverables;
- Assist with preparing project cost estimates and Applications for Expenditures (AFE);
- Work with procurement and contracts teams to support tendering activities, technical bid evaluations, and contractor selection;
- Support construction activities by monitoring progress, coordinating field activities, and helping resolve technical or schedule issues;
- Ensure project work complies with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements;
- Track project costs and schedules, assist with forecasting, and report variances to the project team;
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project management tools, standards, and processes.
What You Need To Succeed
- Post-secondary education in engineering – Mechanical/Civil/Mining preferred;
- P. Eng designation preferred;
- Project management experience with strong understanding of the project management best practices;
- Previous experience in mining and gold process plants an asset;
- Highly developed communication and presentation skills (oral and written) that include excellent report writing, presentation and conflict resolution skills;
- Highly developed interpersonal, problem solving, customer service orientation and team skills;
- High degree of conceptual abilities and capacity to develop creative solutions;
- Knowledge of the mining and construction regulations;
- Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines;
- Solid report writing, communication and presentation skills;
- Effective problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach;
- Strong analytical skills.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 4/3 or 5/2 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine Site;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
