Job description:
This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures
and regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance,
human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
· Plan and conduct regular inspections in liaison with site personnel to ensure environmental compliance is adhered to.
· Participate in planned internal audits, corporate and external environmental audits.
· Ensure area personnel are aware of site environmental policy, area aspect register as well as area environmental risks and their management.
· Participate in periodic updating of area aspect and risk registers with site personnel.
· Participate in closure of internal, corporate and external environmental audit findings.
· Carry out periodic environmental awareness to ensure personnel are aligned with good housekeeping and general management of waste, storage and handling of various chemicals and oils
· Work closely with the waste management teams to ensure best practice in collection and disposal of waste in line with the company’s waste management plan.
· Manage area contractors and staff at site in charge of environmental management to ensure there is no form of pollution.
· Participate in improving general EMS for the area.
· Participate in periodic drills for the site.
· Any other duties as directed by Superiors empowered to exercise authority over him/her.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in the following: Environmental Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or any related field from a recognized university. ISO 14001:2015 EMS auditing experience
All academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA)

Minimal physical demands.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills essential.
Excellent written skills required for preparing reports.
