Project: Great Bear – Red Lake, ON Canada
Rotation: 14 days on 14 days off
Shift Length: 12 hours
Salary Range: $170,000 - $181,000/annum, range is variable and dependent on overtime worked and production bonus paid
Allowance: Will be provided based on location
Travel: Will be provided based on location

Job Summary
The Mandate of the Safety & Training Supervisor is to coordinate training requirements and to provide the necessary resources and support required to enable field & shop personnel to meet all Redpath, Client and legislative requirements relating to Health and Safety in the workplace.
General
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct workplace inspections and Redpath Safety Program audits at Redpath Raisebore projects and workshops.
- Develop, implement and support a site specific Safety and Training Program
- The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive
- Participate in serious Injury and Incident Investigations.
- Participate in workplace Risk Assessments.
- Participate in new project safety start-ups.
- Conduct injury/incident analysis.
- Conduct Redpath specific training in the field such as Train the Trainer, PLCL etc.
- Support Redpath field Safety Supervisors as a resource.
- Regularly attend and participate in Ontario Mine Contractors Safety Association meetings.
- Aid in the development and implementation of Redpath standard operating procedures.
- Represent Redpath or the OMCSA on various industry technical advisory committees.
- Advise senior management on matters relating to health and safety
- Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information
Health And Safety
- Having the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment
- Following Redpath Canada Limited health and safety standards and systems, including the Five Point Safety System and the Cardinal Rules, and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions
- Ability to participate and complete incident / accident investigations and take corrective action to prevent injury and / or re-occurrence
- Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment required
- Must have knowledge of the WHMIS legislation and know how to effectively use an MSDS sheet.
- Comply with the Mine Regulation Act and Regulations clauses that apply to your work area.
Training
- Ensure that all training requirements for the projects and workshops are identified
- Ensure all applicable training is current and compliant.
- Ensure all staff on the project has received the necessary training.
- Ensure that all staff are kept updated with regards to legislation and acts which are applicable to them.
Qualifications
Education
Required: Diploma/Certificate in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene or related field
Preferred: Degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene or related field, Member of the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) or possessing/working toward designation as Canadian Registered Safety Professional
Work Experience
Required: 1-2 years’ experience in mining health and safety capacity
Preferred: 3 years’ experience in mining with corporate HSE experience, development of health, safety, training programs and procedures. Prior experience as a miner required.
